Color Stereo Photography
3DS photography is not a new technology. It was invented in the 1840’s by Sir Charles Wheatstone. Stereo viewing with a box of stereoviews and a Stereoscope was a popular parlor entertainment of the victorian age. The stereoviews varied from images of distant countries, comedy themes of the day and stereoscopic pictures were even taken to document the civil war. A dual two lens box camera versus a one lens system was more the standard than the exception (More history on Wikipedia). NOTE: Each frame of the side by side stereoviews on the pages that follow are 2304 h x 3072 w (in pixels) and are more than suitable for high definition projection or HD 3D TVs.

Split Frame Stereoviews
The images in the above portfolio are from a two camera 3D lens system while the images on the portfolio link to the right were shot with a macro 35mm lens attachment that fits on to a standard 35 camera. The lens splits the images so that you end up with two pictures on a standard 4 x 6 film plane. View the album of pictures.
